Man who beheaded sleeping passenger on tourist bus 'thought he was an alien'

Vince Weiguang Li, 43, after being diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, was found not guilty of murdering 22-year-old Tim McLean on a Canadian Greyhound bus on July 30, 2008.

He has been holed up since his trial at a Winnipeg, Manitoba area mental health centre, where he has received treatment and is now eligible for escorted day trips into the community.

In an interview with Chris Summerville, head of the Schizophrenia Society of Canada, Li said he started hearing in 2004 what he believed was "the voice of God".

Yeah, I read about this. It's fucked up. It's like some crazy, crazy nightmare. Those poor people. You know, I can't believe this guy is out and about, getting back into the community. I know he's sick and everything but surely he can't be trusted. What if he starts skipping his meds then starts seeing those ealiens again - and then takes it upon himself to save the world by chopping someone else up in front of everybody? It's too early for him to get out - fuckin' leave him in there a few more years I say.
