Right now I'm reading (for about the third time in my life) "Bury my heart at wounded knee" by Dee Brown, circa 1970. It's a history of the American Indian and the shameful things whites did to them. And thru it all they held onto their pride. It embarrasses me to think my ancestors treated people this way. I HIGHLY recommend this book!
